Corona Virus is still a global concern and the increases in new cases each day has propelled businesses to invest in systems which ensure business continuity in these hard times all hinged on exercising greatest safety and precaution for teams coming in to work daily. Transport systems around the world are putting up measures to ensure passengers are protected. In the country VAYA continues to be at the fore-front in putting safety first for customers and partners.
VAYA partners have always been cleared for duty during this lockdown and have surely been driven to serve the nation proven by how they have moved Health workers to and from work, delivered food relief, and medicine for FREE to the vulnerable in communities across the country.
The easing of restrictions on movement brings about questions as to whether transport systems are ready for this move. Particularly now that COVID19 cases are increasing in Zimbabwe, the risk of transmission remains high and it’s critical for VAYA to ensure the safety of their passengers is amplified.
In an interview VAYA Mobility CEO, Dorothy Zimuto said, “We have intensified the need for adherence to safety regulations amongst our partners and riders. All our partners have been screened of COVID19 and customers are safe to take rides. The VAYA partner vehicles are also being sanitised and disinfected daily before and after customers come on board and we are also offering free COVID19 to Corporates for their teams who are ferried to and from work by VAYA.”
Dorothy Zimuto further discussed that, “While all this seems minimal to the fight we are up against, we would like to assure that all our partners will provide passengers the highest and safest levels of service during this time.”
Much as some VAYA services like shuttle and carpooling have been affected by this pandemic, it is critical that they invest in giving their riders some level of comfort in terms of their preparedness to contain the virus. The demand for transportation will spike amidst the reopening of industries and companies should take advantage of the free COVID testing as it remains pivotal and strategic in containing the spread of the virus.
